North Petherton BC have very kindly agreed to host the AGM again, this year on Friday 7th September from 7.30pm.

Any member from one of our clubs is welcome to attend. Hopefully with at least one representative from each club. If a club’s official league representative is unable to attend then any club-mate is welcome to vote in his/her place. But note each club will only have one vote (actually- this is an outstanding item from the 2016 minutes which wasn’t revisited last year- we need to clarify whether only official club reps can vote, or does each club get a vote?).

If any club would like to have an item added to the agenda for discussion please let me know (email- enquiries@wsbl.org.uk) before Friday 31st August and I’ll add it. I’ll issue the agenda as soon as possible before the meeting by email and include a copy of last year’s minutes for approval. Please note copies of these minutes can be found on the website- http://www.wsbl.org.uk/community/west-somerset-bowls-league-13263/minutes-of-agms/

If any club is considering adding or withdrawing a team next season perhaps you could raise this at (or before) the meeting? We realise formal decisions may need to wait until club’s AGMs in the autumn but this will give me an idea as I’ve agreed with Alan that I will help produce next season’s fixtures.

Alan has confirmed he is retiring as league secretary at this AGM having done the job since 2012. So, we are looking for a volunteer to take over! I’m prepared to carry on as Acting Secretary until such time as someone comes forward. If someone doesn’t want the full responsibility perhaps you would be prepared to help as Assistant Secretary? If this is the case perhaps we should use this AGM to vote and create this post? I do not believe League Secretary is an overly onerous task. Nowhere near as busy or involved as being a club secretary, and if an assistant secretary post was created then sharing the work would make it a relatively simple task I think? The only pre-requisite is that you are online and able to use email (it would also help if you could take on collating the league table occasionally- I do this using an extremely simple excel programme- in-depth knowledge of excel is definitely not required!).
